Venue Terminology

RP Heavy and Lite have their own definitions outside of the venue scene. The descriptions below are how they tend to apply to venues in Final Fantasy XIV.

RP Heavy: Venue patrons and staff alike have a higher level of dedication toward role-playing stories based on lore. Boundaries and rules of that lore are also taken into high consideration. Venues that are RP Heavy may have specific themes and rules and it is highly advised to review their website or ask the staff questions OOC.

RP Lite: Lite RP environments are beginner friendly and do not actually require you to RP in them! RP interactions are not necessarily long sessions but may have some improvised actions like drinking a beverage using a custom emote. Lore is not heavily weighted in these settings so don’t worry about a backstory!

Both RP Heavy and RP Lite settings will have beginners and mentors willing to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or suggestions from others as they may have their own RP resources to share with you!

*Heavy or Lite is not the same as Hardcore or Casual. You can casually participate in heavy RP!
